FAMILY LIFE:
Jacqueline Gladfelter Devereaux was born at the Fort Sewart Air Force Base Infirmary outside Nashville, Tennessee with the birth name of Jacqueline Elaine Glodfelter. Her last name is a colonial misspelling of Glattfelder.
She is the third of six children born to John Ellsworth Glodfelter Sr., and Helen Tarapchak Glodfelter. Her father served in the Marines, Air Force, and Army from 1946 to 1958 as a Marine Embassy Guard, a Military Police Officer (MP), and a Staff Sergeant. Her father later worked numerous jobs including: a Detroit Police Officer; a casino manager in Las Vegas; the general manager of Malibu Pier; a bartender and restaurant manager; and advertising sales executive.
The family relocated frequently forcing her to attend a different school every year. She ran away from home three weeks before her 17th birthday and finished high school at Dunmore High School (Pennsylvania), living independently from her family. She earned a scholarship at the University of Scranton, a Jesuit college, as a Pre-Med major.
During these early years, she married John Robert Koznowsky on Jan. 12, 1974 in Scranton, PA, and they both moved to San Diego, CA in September 1974. That marriage ended amicably in January 1980. She legally changed her last name by altering one letter Glodfelter to Gladfelter in September 1982, somewhat correcting the colonial misspelling.
She remained single until June 1990 when she joined Craig George Michael Evers in Koh Sumui, Thailand in a Buddhist ceremony. However, that marriage ceremony was never registered with American authorities. Lawyers said that: "At best, they were blessed by Buddhist monks." She also amicably exited that relationship in February 1998, and relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada to be near her dying father.
She later married a third time to Thomas William Devereaux on April 26, 2008 in San Diego at Dog's Beach. She, and her husband Tom, currently reside in the Palm Springs, California area with their two Pug dogs, Lucky and Pepper, and a mixed breed dog named, Angel, all rescues.
Gladfelter Devereaux had no children.

MARS BONFIRE is a novel, film and television series based on the true story of my late second husband, who was a charismatic leader of a 1970s hippie, counter-culture family known as the Cloud Family located in Southern California.
I first wrote the novel in 1994, then adapted it into a screenplay in 2002; later entered the story into contests in 2010 and 2011 reaching the Semi-Finalist rounds in both! I thought I had a winner. Turns out the story would be too expensive to produce because it takes place on five continents!
It's a great story, perfect for any number of A-List Actors. There are several cool male roles in this movie.
Then, there's Operation Bandidos.
It's a novel, a movie and a television series.
Most of this story was inspired from my years living in Mexico.

ON-GOING WRITING PROJECTS:
BRIDGET
Logline: A pre-teen girl, coming-of-age in America, struggles with ghosts as she navigate her teens.
A new book, film and television series that introduces and follows the life of a wholesome, teen girl named Bridget.
11 DAYS IN HELL - After his opioid-addicted daughter is held prisoner by drug dealers in Mexico, an estranged father must risk everything including his life to find her - before it's too late. (Based on a true story).
DELUSION is a psychological mystery involving a journalist investigating the disappearance of an Academy Award-winning actor in Mexico.
PALIMPSEST was first written in 1984 as a novel about reincarnation. It currently is a work-in-progress as a feature-length screenplay.
A FEMININE MANIFESTO - It's the RED SHOE DIARIES mating with CALIFORNICATION, except the sexual episodes are based on true stories of women. This work is slated for a television series.
TRAVELS WITH RAY - This work is a collection of short stories intended for children's television centered around travels with my Pug dog, Ray.
**************************************************************************************I
In October 2002, I accepted a challenge from a Public Relations media colleague who asked if I could turn a true story into a feature-length screenplay. I did and it's called Mars Bonfire.
I entered it into Project Greenlight sponsored by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. I didn't win but it got good reviews and feedback. I didn't touch it again until 2008.
In October 2009, I began writing a screenplay about the coming-of-age of a young girl growing up in America. I call her Bridget - she comes from Pennsylvania but moves to California. She is athletic, smart, pretty and very friendly.
As of November 2011, I rewrote Mars Bonfire, wrote a TV episode and entered three writing contests scoring well in all.
House MD - The Perfect Storm won 2nd Place in the 2010 Scriptapalooza TV Writing Contest in the one-hour existing drama category.
Mars Bonfire advanced to the Semi-Final round of both the 2011 American Screenwriting Competition and the 2010 Final Draft, Big Break Screenwriting Contest.
Bandidos was written in 2011-12 and got optioned in April 2012 by Susan Johnston, Select Services and Jarblum Entertainment. It has been rewritten with a new title Operation Bandidos.
Throughout 2016, Devereaux wrote the book version of Bridget and finished the screenplay, 11 Days in Hell.
In 2017, I was hired to Ghostwrite a book for The We Care Spa founder Susana Belen. That book job was completed in 2018.
I also works as a substitute school teacher from June 2017 to present, and continue to work on my other writing projects, as well as my master's degree and divinity studies. I stay busy.
